THE ST. KITTS-NEVIS-ANGUILLA AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY
THE FORMATION
A meeting was convened at the QTH of Sid May VP2KH (G4CTQ) attended by the following persons:

Glen Dear VP2SK (Later VP2KE)
Cosbert Val Manchester VP2KV
Randolph “Lou” Edmeade VP2KX
Terrence Nisbett VP2KQ
Sid May VP2KH
The St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla Amateur Radio Society was formally founded at 00:45 Hrs GMT on the 12th day of April 1973.
The Group then formed a Committee to complete the paperwork in preparation for launching as follows:
(1) Lloyd Mac Pennyfeather was appointed Secretary
(2) Randolph “Lou” Edmeade was appointed Treasurer
(3) Cosbert Val Manchester was appointed Editor and Publicity Manager
(4) Sid May was appointed Trustee
(5) Terrence Nisbett Committee Member
(6) Glen Dear Committee Member
The REGISTRATION
Application for Registration was submitted on the 21st day of August 1973 and signed by the following Amateurs, who are considered to be The Founding Members:

The St. KITTS-NEVIS-ANGUILLA AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY was registered in the Basseterre Court on September 14th 1973
S. K. N. A. A. R. S. RADIO CALLSIGN
Application for a Radio Amateur transmitting License was submitted by letter dated October 26 1973 from Society Secretary, R. Lou Edmeade to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Communications and Works, Government Headquarters, Basseterre. The callsign requested was VP2KARS.
Application was again made by Secretary Randolph Lou Edmeade on August 28th 1975; follow-up letter of September 23rd 1975 and again February 5th 1976. License was issued finally by letter dated May 11th 1976 by Acting Telecommunications Officer, Zephaniah A. Joseph, VP2KZ. The St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla Amateur Radio Society received its Callsign: VP2KR.
THE LAUNCH OF THE ST. KITTS-NEVIS-ANGUILLA AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY
The launch of the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla Amateur Radio Society took place at the Headquarters of the Red Cross on Horsford Road on November 7th 1973. Keethton France, VP2KF demonstrated radio amateur station operation.
At 7:50 Local Time, Chairman for the evening’s proceedings, Lloyd Mac Pennyfeather VP2KP opened the proceedings by summing-up the main objective of the Society,
“The St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla Amateur Radio Society has been formed, not only to represent the radio amateur in this State, but to get together the experience, guidance and backing available to help members before and after obtaining an amateur radio license”.
Twenty-seven (27) persons were present at that meeting in which the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla Amateur Radio Society was introduced to the general public.:-
